As someone who had trouble making bookends (two pieces of wood nailed together) I am wildly impressed! I also note that the plant container is not plastic. I always wonder why people use plastic plant containers when even unglazed terracotta gets nicer looking with age. Sophie, have any of your friends at school been inspired by your family to try something similar themselves?
It was really fun to make that (and to put it to good use)! They haven't yet... but once I tell them more about it, I'm sure they'll at least think about it.
We are a Manhattan family of five trying to zero out the packaging and plastic of all sorts that we bring into our city lives. If it can't be recycled or composted, don't bring it home!
